In late July 2005 Guy Clark, executive director of the NM Coalition Against Gambling, visited the Las Cruces area to warn of the danger of a proposed off-reservation casino for Anthony, NM. He conducted a news conference with family issues activist Pam Wolfe and Pastor Juan Acevedo, of Anthony, site of the proposed casino.

Pam Wolfe, family issues activist, said an off-reservation casino would be a bad bet for parents.

Pastor Juan Acevedo of Central Family Christian Church in Anthony told reporters the casino would harm families in his area.

Guy Clark, executive director of the NM Coalition Against Gambling, warns that the proposed Anthony casino will not provide the jobs the opposition claims.

All major Las Cruces-El Paso media
